Dr. Champika Ellawalla Kankanamge
Dr. Champika Ellawalla Kankanamge is a Sri Lankan woman and professor and senior lecturer at the University of Ruhana. Dr. Kankanamge studies pollution levels in aquatic ecosystems, as well as working to remove invasive aquatic plants and restore habitats for native species.

Dr. Alex Moore
Dr Alex Moore (@Dr_AlexM) is a queer gender non-conforming black person and is currently a postdoctoral fellow and assistant professor at the University of British Columbia. Dr. Moore studies wetlands ecology and restoration, trophic interactions in wetlands ecosystems, and traditional ecological knowledge. They have also been a part of many DEI initiatives, including mentorship programs.
